Cristiano Ronaldo’s immediate impact at Manchester United is difficult to overstate.
His return was only officially announced on the final day of the summer window, finalising an Old Trafford after 12 years away.
A vastly different player to the one which left the club in 2009, one thing hasn’t changed with Ronaldo - his relentless desire to win.
Just hours after his arrival was confirmed, the 36-year-old was already discussing the need to bring silverware back to United.
He said: “I am not here for a vacation. As I told you, before was good, winning important things and I wore the shirt before many years ago, but I am here to win again.
“I am capable, me and my team-mates. I am ready to go, I am ready to go. It is a good chance for me, for the supporters, for the club, to get one step ahead.
“I am ready and I think I will be a huge thing in the next three or four years.”
And he's quickly showed they weren’t just empty promises, scoring five times in his first six games back as a United player.
His debut was nothing more than a party at The Theatre of the Dreams, with Ronaldo scoring twice as they thrashed Newcastle 4-1.
Following the victory, he admitted that he was a little nervous about his second debut, but Fabio da Silva has opened up on how he helps others making their bow.
As an 18-year-old Fabio made his senior debut for the Red Devils in 2008 and outlined a chat he had with his idol just minutes before his first competitive action.
“Ronaldo helped me a lot there,” Fabio told ESPN Brasil via Sport Witness. “I didn’t speak English at all, or practically nothing. Not even ‘water’. He helped me and my brother a lot.
“I’m very grateful to him. My first game, I don’t forget, against Tottenham, I was 18 years old. I have a photo with him to this day.”

It wasn’t all kind words from Ronaldo however, with Fabio revealing he was handed a little warning about what to do - and what not to do with the ball.
The former United full-back added: “Before the game, he came to me, hugged me and said: ‘From the middle to the front, you can do whatever you want. From the middle to the back, don’t try to do anything, because you might lose the ball and I can’t get it back for you’. Those were the words he used.
“It shows how much he helps and will help young people at Manchester United. That’s why I thought his signing was super right. Young people seeing the 36-year-old guy, working, running, for everything he’s achieved.”
