Cristiano Ronaldo sends message to Max Allegri following Juventus departure

Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a classy goodbye message to Max Allegri after the Italian announced he'll be leaving the club at the end of the season.

Allegri's time in charge of the Bianconeri will come to an end after the Italian champions' final two games of the season at home to Atalanta and away to Sampdoria.

He won his fifth Scudetto in five seasons in charge earlier this year, but the arrival of Ronaldo was tipped to make them challenge for the Champions League this season, only for them to lose to Ajax in the last-16.

That defeat raised questions about Ronaldo's own future at the club, ut he is now expected to stay on in Turin.

"Thank you Mister!" Ronaldo tweeted on Saturday.

"We only lived one year together but it was exceptional because besides being a great coach, you are a great man. It was a pleasure to work with you!"

Allegri has already been linked with several roles, but he remains unsure as to what his next move will be.

"I don't know what will happen in future," he said. "I need a little rest, too.

"After July 15 I might inevitably feel the desire to get back to work and I'll evaluate the situations that are proposed.

"Otherwise, I'll have a year to dedicate myself to my family and that band of crazies who are my friends. We'll see."
