Cristiano Ronaldo marries Georgina Rodríguez in Portugal, shares wedding photo on Instagram

Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez have married in an intimate civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, after nearly a decade together. The Portuguese football star and Rodríguez tied the knot on August 11, 2026, and confirmed the marriage through a joint Instagram post showing them dressed in white and displaying their wedding rings.

The ceremony was attended by their five children and was kept private, with no major public wedding event announced beforehand. Ronaldo, 41, and Rodríguez, 32, shared the confirmation exactly one year after Rodríguez announced their engagement.

Marriage confirmed on social media

The couple's Instagram post provided the first clear confirmation of their marriage, with both Ronaldo and Rodríguez showing rings on their left hands. The private ceremony took place in Cascais, away from a large public celebration.

The timing coincided with the first anniversary of their engagement announcement. Rodríguez had announced their engagement on August 11, 2025, following years of speculation over when the couple would officially marry.

Wedding follows false rumours in Portugal

The ceremony came days after rumours circulated that Ronaldo and Rodríguez would marry at Funchal Cathedral in Madeira.

On August 8, hundreds of people gathered outside the cathedral after the reports spread. A wedding was taking place there, but it involved another couple. Ronaldo and Rodríguez subsequently held their own ceremony away from public attention.

Their five children attended

The couple's five children were present at the private ceremony, according to People. They are Cristiano Jr., twins Eva and Mateo, Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda.

Ronaldo and Rodríguez welcomed Alana in 2017. They later had twins in 2022, although their son Ángel died shortly after birth while his twin sister Bella survived.

Rodríguez has also played a significant role in raising Ronaldo's older children. Their family life has frequently appeared on social media and in Rodríguez's Netflix series, "I Am Georgina."

Relationship began in Madrid

Ronaldo and Rodríguez first met in Madrid while Rodríguez was working as a sales assistant at a Gucci store. Their relationship became public in 2017 as Ronaldo's football career later took him from Spain to Italy and then Saudi Arabia.

Rodríguez has established her own career as a model, entrepreneur and reality television personality. The marriage marks the couple's official next step after years of building their family life together.
