From sweet brand deals to free overseas trips, it’s no secret that being a content creator can rake in the big bucks and the big benefits, but as Jessie J once sang, “it’s not about the money”. So, here’s how much money some creators have turned down by dumping gigs.
Descending onto Sydney’s Carriageworks, creators, influencers and stylists from all across the nation have gathered to partake in Australian Fashion Week festivities with their best ‘fits.
But amongst all the chatter about clothing and creativity, there is, of course, the curiosity surrounding how much folks get paid to be creative nowadays. However, what’s even more ~juicy~ are the big bucks people have rejected!
Speaking to PEDESTRIAN.TV, model and digital creator Eloise Monique revealed that she dumped a $5K from a brand because they “didn’t align” with her.
Similarly, Australian hat maker (and seasoned Aussie Fashion Week icon) Stacey Hemera Roberts shared that she had to turn down gigs because she refuses to work with rude clients.
“Do you know what? I believe in dealing with nice people,” she told PEDESTRIAN.TV
“If somebody is rude when they ask for something, I don’t care how much you want to pay me, I will not do it. I would much rather work with nice people who, even just the way that they approach me for business with — you know — a polite kind word, [it] makes such a difference than someone that is demanding and expects a lot.
“Especially the celebrities who are used to getting their way.”

Online creator Akira Isola also shared that she was once offered $17,000 to spend a week on yachts, but ultimately declined the offer.
“I’ve been offered, I think it was about $17,000 to come and spend a week on some yachts, quote unquote modelling,” she began.
“There were brands and fashion there. However, 90 per cent of the attendees were very very rich men in their 50s.”
For reality TV star and influencer Suzan Mutesi, she told PTV that she ditched a $5050 job and model Cem Sarigul told us he dumped a $3K gig because he was *checks notes* “very tired and hungover”.
“Looking back I would’ve taken the job because it could have funded my whole trip here,” he shared.

Now (in the hopes that my editor doesn’t read this), there have been plenty of times where I’ve needed to chuck a sickie because I was… sick.
So, a girly gets it. BUT FOR $3K IN ONE DAY? Yeah, I am there regardless!!!
