A crazed young thug chased a Dublin couple while armed with a knife threatening to 'slash them both' in a violent southside incident.
The violent attack occurred on Friday October 16 on Glenaulin Road in Palmerstown near the sports field shortly after 7:30pm.
The attacker, who is said to be in his 20s, was found by the couple inside their car and trying to interfere with the steering wheel.
When the pair confronted the thief, he made "no effort" to leave the scene before turning extremely violent.
The dangerous man threatened to stab them both before eventually fleeing the scene on foot.
The car was damaged and was unable to be started with a key following the incident.
A community text alert was sent around to residents pleading for dashcam footage or any information on the attack.
It said: "The incident happened in the laneway entering the sports fields on Glenaulin Road.
"Did you see anything unusual? Have you CCTV or dashcam footage from around that time? Please get in touch if you do."
