The A1 between Haddington and Dunbar has been partially closed this morning after a driver drove down the wrong side of the dual carriageway.
Another driver crashed into the central reservation after having to swerve the oncoming vehicle.
Fortunately it has been reported that the driver of the car involved in the crash is unharmed after striking the metal bar.
The incident was initially reported to Police Scotland at 10.35am and the car going the wrong way has been described as 'a small blue vehicle'.
Police are working to reopen the road as quickly as possible and there are expected delays to traffic travelling into East Lothian .
