Cramped Edinburgh £550pm 'one-bed flat' with no bedroom ripped apart online

A flat listed as a 'one-bedroom' property on a rental site has been condemned by the Edinburgh Poverty Commission.

Agents have put the Southside flat on the market for £550 per month but in its description have said it is a 'lovely studio' despite its listing.

On the plus side, you won't have to worry about making your bed when you get up as the two room property doesn't have one - just a futon.

The Edinburgh Poverty Commission retweeted a thread slating the flat saying: "Examples like this demonstrate Edinburgh's affordable housing crisis and highlight a real fear for many on low incomes that rising housing costs are making the city unliveable."

The compact Old Town flat features an open plan kitchen, living room and bedroom (?) all combined in one space with a bathroom 'just off' - although it is unclear as to where 'just off' is.

The description on Rightmove says: "The flat comprises of a lovely open plan lounge / kitchen area with large windows and sofabed, newly fitted shower room just off."

Despite the cramped setting, the listing also reads: "Early viewing is highly recommended as properties like this are few and far between in the city centre."
