Craigcrook Road speed checks see number of drivers pulled over in Blackhall area of Edinburgh

Roads police have been cracking down on speeding motorists on a busy route to the west of Edinburgh.

Teams were busy conducting checks on Craigcrook Road on Monday with "numerous" vehicles stopped and two drivers charged with speeding offences.

They say they'll continue to monitor speeds in the area in the coming weeks in a bid to keep road users safe.

Edinburgh Police North West posted news of their activity on Twitter, adding: "Local officers conducted speed checks in Craigcrook Road. Numerous vehicles were stopped and two drivers were charged with speeding offences and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal. Officers will continue to conduct speed checks over the coming weeks."

Police also shared news of their work with the DVLA to clamp down on untaxed vehicles in the north west of the city. On Monday seven vehicles were either seized or clamped with drivers warned.
