Crabbie's Ginger Wine - like sherry - is synonymous with Christmas and that's usually the time that people suddenly remember how much they like it and stock up on a bottle.
The winter warmer, which is steeped for up to six weeks like the original maker John Crabbie did in 1801, is typically drunk on its own but certainly gives a kick when used as a mixer with a spirit.
Now, its Scottish makers have come up with a further option to add to the Christmas a drinks cupboard - a mulled ginger wine that seems set to become a new favourite.
Crabbie's Mulled Ginger Wine is exactly what it says on the label and and is a festive take on the familiar flavour.
Its blend combines Crabbie’s Ginger Wine and British Ruby with citrus fruits, natural ginger and spices to create a new drink which the company suggests is either enjoyed on its own or poured into a tall glass, mixed with cinnamon sticks and given a citrus peel garnish.
And Crabbie's reckon its new drink is "perfect to get you in the festive spirit".
The company adds: "It can also be enjoyed the 'Crabbie’s way' by pouring it over a mince pie creating a unique dessert option for winter evenings".
