Cows plunge off Scots cliff sparking major rescue as two people rush to save them

Two members of the public had to be rescued after they raced to help stricken cattle which had plunged off a cliff.

The two startled beasts were stuck and unable to get back to shore prompting two people to jump into the water to try to save them.

Despite wearing wetsuits and lifejackets, the duo were struggling against the waves until the Stranraer RNLI lifeboat arrived.
