Covidiots who moved barriers from closed Scots park slapped with fines

Covidiots who moved barriers from a closed Paisley car park were slapped with covid tickets by cops.

Renfrewshire Council shut Robertson Car Park in the Gleniffer Braes after reports of large groups of people breaching restrictions.

But just days after heavy water-filled barriers were put in place, cops found more people flaunting the rules.

Officers patrolling the area handed out 13 Fixed Penalty Notices on Thursday night having discovered the blockade had been shifted to allows cars to drive in.

Earlier this week, the Express reported a group of 20 people were caught meeting at the site on Saturday, January 16 - four were ticketed by cops.

Known as the car park in the sky, it was shut off after police raised concerns.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We will continue to patrol the area in the coming weeks.

“We would urge all members of the public to follow the current restrictions.”
