Covidiot screams in cop’s face after officers called to break up illegal lockdown house party

A woman has been fined after officers were called to reports of an illegal Saturday night house party during lockdown.

Police arrived at the property in Rhymney, South Wales, on January 16 and found people from at least three different households.

The force has released body-cam footage of the shocking incident which showed a female screaming in an officer’s face as he attempted to explain the rules.

The covidiot claimed she had formed a ‘bubble’ but the male officer soon pointed out that there were too many households present for that to be true, Wales Online reports.

The clip, released by Gwent Police, showed the officer ringing the doorbell before saying: “We’ve had a call saying that there’s people here who shouldn’t be here and a bit of a party going on earlier on.

“Is there anyone inside that doesn’t live here now.”

The woman, who appears to be slurring her words, denies that anyone is inside that shouldn’t be before asking: “Are you going to fine me for this?”

She then adds that she’s “not going to pay it” and refuses to let him inside without ‘a warrant’.

The householder begins screaming and places her hand on the officer who walks into the property to check who is inside.

She claims she is a single parent who has formed a bubble - but the officer explains that there are too many households present for that to be the case.

The officer then tells the woman she will receive a fine through the post and will go to court if she does not pay it.

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “Officers attended this gathering in Rhymney where there were three households having a party.

“One woman was issued with a fixed penalty notice and another was given a warning.

“Mixing with other households, both indoors and outdoors, is prohibited by Welsh Government regulations.

“Please don’t risk the lives of your loved ones and the wider community by having house parties or gatherings.

“We would like to thank the majority of Gwent residents who are adhering to Covid regulations and we will continue to engage, explain and encourage our communities to work together with us to keep everyone safe.

“For those who blatantly go against the restrictions, we will take enforcement action.”
