Covid Scotland: Worst affected areas as all of Edinburgh hit with multiple virus cases

Every single area in Edinburgh now has multiple positive cases of coronavirus as the city continues to register the most Covid cases in Scotland.

Edinburgh registered 3,071 new cases of coronavirus between June 22 and June 28, 2021.

Over the last two weeks, Edinburgh has seen unprecedented levels of the virus, with the positivity rate jumping to 582 cases per every 100,000 people - which is much higher than the 242 per every 100,000 people positivity rate in January.

Edinburgh continues to have the lowest vaccination rates per population than anywhere else in Scotland and NHS Lothian’s region saw another 999 cases reported overnight.

There are now a number of areas in the capital that have registered more than 40 cases over a seven-day period.

The worst affected Edinburgh areas with over 40 cases:
