Covid guidance updated in parts of Spain with people advised to wear masks again

Holidaymakers traveling to parts of Spain are now being advised to wear masks in busy places again thanks to the risk of new Covid strains. The updated guidance was issued this week amid the risk of new strains rising in China and the USA.

The Balearics have already issued advice that people should wear masks in public and that has now spread to areas including the Costa del Sol, Málaga, and Seville, reports the Star. Masks are mandated on public transport in Spain.

Spain is not allowing unvaccinated travellers from China to enter.

The president of Andalusia Juanma Moreno said people should wear masks in indoor places where there is a crowd of people unable to maintain a safe distance.

For nursing homes, the regional government is reintroducing a booking system for visitors to make sure they are not showing any signs of Covid.

You can check Spain's entry requirements on the gov.uk website.
