PUNE: The Pune Metropolitan Region recorded 460 new Covid-19 cases on Monday.
The Pune Municipal Corporation limits did not report any Covid-19 deaths on Monday. The civic limits had reported zero death after a gap of over a month. A total of three Covid deaths were reported in the Pune Metropolitan Region on Monday, one each in Pimpri Chinchwad, rural and Cantonment areas.
The health officials said daily deaths had been on decline in the region for the last few days.
Around 228 new patients were added in PMC limits, 113 in Pimpri Chinchwad, while the rural areas, councils and cantonments recorded 119 new cases. As many as 1,634 patients recovered in the PMR. Of them, 920 were from the PMC limits, 404 from Pimpri Chinchwad and 310 from the other areas.
A report released by district health officer Bhagwan Pawar stated that 12,332 samples were checked in the region on Monday. Day’s positivity rate was dropped to 3.7%. Over 6,000 tests were conducted in PCMC limits. PMC and rural areas conducted 3,914 and 2,210 tests, respectively.
Meanwhile, the active case count continued stay below 10,000. Around 8,414 patients were in home isolation in the region and 936 were getting treatment in the hospital.
