COVID-19: Staff cheers as Dubliner makes full recovery after spending over 2 months in ICU

A Dublin GAA man who spent 74 days in hospital battling COVID-19 got a round of applause after he was discharged yesterday.

Tim O’Leary had been at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore, Co Offaly for nearly two and half months.

He spent 43 out of the 74 days on a ventilator but the strong-willed St Brigids GAA man managed to make a full recovery.

In a video shared by Hill 16 Army on Twitter, hospital staff can be seen cheering and clapping for Mr O’Leary as he leaves the hospital.

The caption read: “This is amazing! After 74 days in hospital with Covid-19 (43 of which were on a ventilator) a great Dublin GAA man, Tim O'Leary, leaves the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore this afternoon!

"Incredible news for Tim's family and all his club mates in @StBrigidsGAA.”
