A further 374 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed this evening.
Meanwhile sadly another 24 Covid-19 related deaths have been reported.
12 deaths occurred in March, 10 in February and 2 in January.
The figures were confirmed by the National Public Health Emergency Team this afternoon..
They come as Ireland's mandatory hotel quarantine laws for people arriving from abroad will take affect from the end of this week.
The new rules state that people arriving from a list of at-risk countries will be forced to quarantine in a hotel for 14 days.
The cost for an incoming passenger coming from one of 33 designated states is €1,875 for 12 nights.
Once a person touches down in Ireland from a "Category 2 State", they will first be told to remain on the plane before being greeted by border management in a separate section of the airport.
From there they will have to complete some paperwork, before being brought by officials to collect their bags and brought directly to their quarantine facility.
The rules will also apply to anyone who arrives into the country without the required negative PCR test for Covid-19.

Meanwhile Stephen Donnelly has cast new doubt on Government vaccine commitments saying his deadlines are “always conditional.”
The Minister for Health was speaking to reporters on the way into this morning’s Cabinet meeting when he gave the latest disappointing update.
The Government has bravely committed to 80% of the country’s adults having jabs in their arms by the end of June.
But Mr Donnelly said that unfortunately this is completely reliant on vaccine deliveries in the coming months.
He predicts we will have one million doses delivered this month, and more than that again next month.
