Counting kicks-off after people in West Lothian went to the polls

Counting as begun this morning after people in West Lothian went to the polls to cast their vote in the Scottish Parliament elections.

The count kicked-off at West Lothian College at 9am and unlike previous years, we won't know the results for some time.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions votes for the Linlithgow constituency and regional list will be counted today and the winner declared at some point this afternoon.

And tomorrow the votes in the Almond Valley constituency will be counted and we'll find out the winner there later that day.

Last time round, in 2016, SNP MSP Angela Constance saw her majority increase in the Almond Valley seat by 2851, polling 18475 votes - an impressive 53 per cent.

And in Linlithgow, fellow SNP MSP Fiona Hyslop was celebrating after seeing her majority doubled, with 19,362 votes and a 50 per cent share.

But will it be all yellow this time round? Make sure you keep an eye on our social media pages and here for the results as they come in.
