Corrie trailer hints death tragedy for Peter Barlow as he prepares to marry Carla

Coronation Street has hinted at tragedy for Peter Barlow and Carla Connor, ahead of their wedding.

As the couple prepare to tie the knot after recently reuniting, it's heavily teased Peter might not make it down the aisle.

Peter is seriously ill and needs a liver transplant to survive, while he doesn't even know if he is eligible for one as of yet.

After relapsing last year, the alcoholic was diagnosed with liver failure and has been seriously unwell ever since.

Determined to give up the booze and get his life back, Peter's fate rests on whether he can get a donor.

But time could be running out judging by a new teaser, with it questionable whether he and Carla will get hitched.

Peter struggles in upcoming scenes, as his loved ones beg him to go to the hospital.

Carla also fears the wedding is too much stress for him, and asks him to postpone if he isn't well enough.

Daniel accuses his brother of putting his life at risk by going through with the wedding when he clearly isn't doing okay.

With Peter also at risk of not being eligible for a donor unless het gets the rest he needs, his family are left fearing they could lose him.

They aren't alone either, with the trailer leaving viewers worried about the scenes ahead.

One viewer replied: "This better be the start of their happy ending cause it can’t end like this."

Another tweeted: "I really hope they get their happy ending. The pair of them deserve it."

A third added: "YOU CANT DO THIS TO US WE’RE TOO FRAGILE."

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
