Corrie teases exit for Asha Alahan as big news leads to upsetting Nina scenes

Coronation Street airs panic for Nina Lucas next week, amid her ongoing battle with anxiety.

The character is constantly fearful over the safety of her girlfriend Asha Alahan, ever since the tragic murder of her boyfriend Seb Franklin last year - when she was also brutally attacked and left for dead.

Nina has confided in few people about her trauma and anxious feelings, whenever she can't get hold of Asha.

But she has yet to seek the help she desperately needs to help her cope, and next week things take a worrying turn.

Asha makes a confession that could lead to an exit from the ITV soap for the character in the near future.

Corrie has teased an exit for Asha Alahan (ITV)

She reveals she is considering applying to Glasgow University in Scotland, meaning she won't be in Weatherfield.

While she is excited about the opportunity, she is also fearful about how Nina will react and how she will cope without her.

As Asha begins to have doubts, her dad Dev offers her a guidebook to Glasgow so she can get a feel of the city.

Asha decides to spend the day there too, to see if she likes the area amid her plans to move there if she gets into the university.

Nina soon finds out though, and is left panicked but puts on a brave face and encourages her to go on the trip.

But later on Nina is left concerned when she finds out that severe flooding is expected in the area, when Asha is meant to be going.

Immediately fearing for her girlfriend's safety, Nina's anxiety takes over and leads to worrying behaviour.

Asha pops by to see Nina before her trip, but Nina soon locks the door and refuses to let her out to stop her getting the train.

Viewers will have to tune in next week to see the moment unfold, and how Asha reacts to her girlfriend's turmoil.

But will Nina finally be encouraged to get the help she needs, and is Asha really going to leave?

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
