Corrie star left crying in agony after suffering running injury on Christmas Day

Coronation Street actor Colson Smith has been left crying in agony after suffering a running accident.

Colson, who plays Corrie policeman Craig Tinker, suffered an injury to his foot after going running on Christmas Day.

The 22-year-old soap star, who has lost weight in 2020 after taking up exercise, revealed that unfortunately he hasn't been able to see a specialist over Christmas.

Speaking on his Sofa Cinema Club movie podcast, which he presents with co-stars Ben Price and Jack P Shepherd said he was 'frustrated' by the pain.

Asked about his Christmas he said: "I got injury related presents."

Pressed on the subject by Ben, who plays Nick Tilsley, he said: "It's at the point where I'm crying at night now."

He explained: "I've rang about 14 physios today and none of them are open because it's Christmas.

"I ran on Christmas Day, which might not have been the smartest move in hindsight."

Describing his pain Colson added: "It's pain you can cope with and then it's not pain you can cope with. It's weird.

"It just isn't right. It's annoying, and it's really, really frustrating."

Colson has been showered with praise over his weight loss.

This summer fans remarked how different his character looked as he stepped out of the police station looking slimmer and with blonde hair.

After the soap halted filming due to the coronavirus pandemic in March, Colson used the time off to focus on his fitness regime, and he's been keeping followers updated on his fitness journey.

Colson joked in lockdown that he'd need a 'fat suit' when he returned to work as he'd look completely different to where the character left off.
