Corrie's Simon Gregson ends 10-year Liam Gallagher feud with one 'kind' gesture

Simon Gregson has finally ended his long-term feud with Liam Gallagher after 10 years.

The Coronation Street star, 45, reached out an olive branch by replying to the former Oasis star’s Twitter update.

On Sunday, Liam asked his 3.4 million followers what they planned to do with the rest of their lives now that the coronavirus lockdown has been eased massively in the UK.

The rock star posed the question: "What you gonna do with the rest of your life."

And to his followers surprise, Simon replied by insisting that he intended to take Liam out for a pint allowing their fall out.

In an attempt to seemingly make amends with the singer, Simon replied: "Take you for a pint."

While Liam is yet to respond to the well intended gesture from the Corrie star, fans are hopeful that the pair can put the past behind them once and for all.

“No way, oh wow are you two back being pals again? There’s nothing I would love to see more!” gushed one follower.

“Liam and Simon in a pub having a natter over a pint of Guinness! Now that will be the day,” another joked.

“Aww how cute. Liam please respond and make this happen! Life is too short,” a third urged.

While a fourth admirer shared: “Imagine that @liamgallagher turning up at the rovers to have a pint with Steve McDonald."

The offer comes just days after Liam described in an interview with The Sun a tense meeting the pair had in the past.

The Oasis frontman revealed that decades ago, he had chased the soap actor after the pair crossed paths outside Granada studios, where Corrie was filmed.

At the time, this was also the location where Oasis had made their TV debut with the song Take Me.

The Wonderwall singer recalled: "The guy who is in Coronation Street, Steve McDonald, I was walking down the road with my jacket on and he’s come out and he’s staring at me and I’m staring at him and he’s giving me looks back and I've gone, 'What you f****g looking at?'

"And he’s wound down his window and flipped the bird at me and then I’ve chased him down the road.

"And he wound his window up and drove off and I kept catching him at lights."

Simon has played former Rovers Return landlord Steve since 1989.

He is currently at the centre of a heartbreaking storyline about his three-year-old son Oliver being diagnosed with life-limiting mitochondrial disease.
