Kelly Neelan has only suffered pain and misery on the cobbles, but it's been the opposite for Millie Gibson.
The character was first mentioned as far back as 2009, when nasty loan shark Rick Neelan told Gail Platt about his son and daughter, who we would later discover is schoolgirl Kelly.
However, she didn't actually turn up in Weatherfield until June 2019 - and by this time Rick had been killed by the hands of Gary Windass.
Originally a minor role, Millie only starred in five episodes before being brought back for another short stint, but then she went missing from screens for six months due to lockdown.
The young actress returned to the role in December last year and has been an established fixture ever since - signing a permanent contract in May this year.
But the future looks dark for Millie's character as Kelly is currently on trial for Seb Franklin's murder with all the odds stacked against her.

Millie, who lives at home with mum Paula and dad Paul, feared she wouldn't get the part because of her Mancunian accent.
The 17-year-old feared her well-spoken rivals would get the role because the character attended private school, but she managed to turn the situation to her advantage.
Millie, who trained at the Oldham Theatre Workshop from the age, explained: "There were lots of girls in the waiting room that looked nothing like me.
"They were all quite well-spoken and I’ve got a bit of a Manc twang in my voice so I was a bit like, ‘Oh no, am I going to have to play her in a different way?’
"But in the end I didn’t because my take on Kelly was while she was a private schoolgirl, I knew she did not quite fit in as the rest of them. So I think not having that well-spoken, posh put-together voice worked quite well."
Many Corrie viewers have noticed Millie's eyebrow - with some believing it has been deliberately shaved as part of her character.
It's clearly something that gets asked a lot as her social media profile now includes the message: "Before you ask - it's a scar."

Explaining how it irritates her family, the actress said: "It is a scar and my dad always gets very frustrated about comments like that because people go, 'she's put it on herself' and my dad's like, 'no she's not!'
"When I was younger - I was about two or three - there's one of my pictures where I look like a right thug.
"I was running through this barn and I whacked my head on the corner of the bannister and apparently my head was massive and it's never really healed by I kind of like it! It definitely works for the character!"
Millie, who has also appeared in Love, Lies and Records and Jamie Johnson, got her big break in 2008 starring alongside Anna Friel in ITV drama Butterfly.
"Butterfly was such a beautiful show to work on. Anna’s lovely and she taught me a lot," said the teen.
"Everything she wanted to achieve in the scene she achieved, so she was very determined in that sense and it was really amazing watching her work.
"I think everything that she brought to the set and what I observed from my experience in every job I have done I have always taken with me."

Since arriving on the cobbles, troubled Kelly has searched for her dead dad, leaked nude photos of Asha Alahan and been fostered by Imran Habeeb and Toyah Battersby.
Millie was "over the moon" in May this year when she signed a contract to keep her in the soap.
"It's been so nice to explore different layers of Kelly, because when she first came in, she was a troubled girl looking for her dad," she said.
"It started to unfold that she had all of these other problems going on, and all of these other encounters with different characters that added to her personality and journey throughout Corrie. It's been amazing to explore Kelly.
"I never imagined this would happen but I'm over the moon. I just thought it was going to be a once-in-a-blue-moon experience, but I'm now part of this amazing family."
Millie has revealed the reaction to her character has been mixed - with some viewers forgetting she is playing a fictional character.
She said: "It's been half and half. I think some people forget fiction and reality but some people have been really kind saying, 'I hate your guts that much you must be a good actress!' But yeah, it was expected, so it's been alright."
She is currently right at the centre of an explosive storyline as Kelly is currently on trial, accused of murdering Seb Franklin.
This week, the audience discovered through a flashback that Kelly actually tried to stop evil Corey attacking Seb on the night he was killed.
But she was involved in the initial taunting and abandoned Seb and Nina rather than going to get help.
Millie believes Kelly is trying to be cocky to impress men like Corey and deal with the loss of her dad and her insecurities, but now her entire world has come crashing down.
"She's been in prison for a long time already now and it will be interesting to see how she reacts now she's been stripped back," she told Digital Spy this week.
"I think we're going to see almost a post-traumatic version of herself, not the cocky girl we used to see. She's going to be very vulnerable which will be really interesting to play."
The actress doesn't believe Kelly would cope well with a lengthy spell behind bars - and viewers will discover whether she gets a prison sentence next week.
Discussing the powerful storyline with The Mirror, Millie added: "It’s daunting because it’s such a big pressure to get it right because it was based on a crime that happened .
"And I think everyone involved has done such an amazing job. I feel very honoured and very lucky to be part of it."
