Coronation Street 's Kelly Neelan was not impressed on Monday when her mum Laura returned to the cobbles.
The first of Monday's two episodes saw Kelly bump into Stu in Roy's Rolls as they both discussed their current positive situations.
Kelly is now living with Gary Windass (Mikey North) and Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon), while Stu has landed a job at Speed Daal with Yasmeen Metcalfe (Shelley King).
Stu told Kelly that he owes her being kind to him when no-one else was and ended up inviting her, Gary and Maria to Speed Daal for a meal.
Kelly is delighted and accepted the invitation but things took a turn for the worse as Laura walked into the cafe.
The teenager looked gobsmacked as she stormed past Laura, who then followed her out onto the street.
"Slow down, I'm trying to talk to you," Laura said as she chased after her.
"Look, my life is really good right now and I really don't need you screwing that up!" Kelly barked at her.
"There's something I need to say..." Laura replied as Kelly fired back: "What? Money is it? That's usually what you want from me! Well, I'm skint so forget it!"
Later that day, Laura showed up in Speed Daal and blurted out to Kelly that she's dying as Maria and Gary looked on shocked.
But Kelly accused Laura of lying and told her: "I'm not interested," but she insisted she has stomach cancer and only has a few months left to live.
Laura then gave her an emotional apology as she told her: "I'm sorry for abandoning you. Im sorry that I tried to exploit you for money, I'm sorry full stop.
"I want to make amends for all my wrongdoings," she continued as she burst into tears.
As Gary and Maria discussed it later on, Kelly was seen sneaking out of the flat - but it's unsure whether or not she was going to see Laura.
Viewers tuning in at home were convinced that Laura was lying about her cancer diagnosis, and took to Twitter to comment.
"Laura is lying. I am sure of it #Corrie," one person posted.
Another person tweeted: "It isn't easy to believe Laura...though woe betide she's lying. It would not be good #Corrie."
Someone else asked: "Laura’s making it up isn’t she? #Corrie."
Others predicted that the truth could come out about Gary killing Laura's husband.
"Will Kelly's mum learn the truth that Gary murdered her husband? Self defence or not, if she's dying she deserves to know the truth. #corrie," one said.
Another tweeted: "If only Kelly knew Gary that you killed her father. #Corrie."
A third viewer added: "Kelly really will sink if she ever finds out the truth about how Gary killed her dad #Corrie."
