Coronavirus: UK death toll rises again as patient aged 41 dies

The number of people who have died after testing positive for coronavirus has risen again.

The UK death toll reached 233 today (March 21).

NHS England said in a statement: “A further 53 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19), have died – bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in England to 220.

“Patients were aged between 41 and 94 years old and all had underlying health conditions.”

As of yesterday (March 21) Bristol had 13 confirmed cases, according to Public Health England (PHE).

The number of cases in South Gloucestershire also rose to 13 and North Somerset had four cases.

As of today, there are now a total of 5,018 confirmed coronavirus cases in the UK up from 3,983 at 9am on Friday.

A total of 72,818 people have been tested, with 67,800 negative results.
