A further 25 people have sadly lost their lives having contracted Coronavirus in Northern Ireland, the Department of Health has confirmed.
According to the latest dashboard update on Sunday, January 17, 21 of the latest fatalities occurred within the last 24 hours while the other four deaths occurred outside the current reporting period.
The number of new positive cases has also risen with a further 822 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
Northern Ireland has recorded a total of 6,882 new cases of Covid-19 in the last seven days.
At present there are currently 840 Covid-19 inpatients in hospitals across NI with 67 patients currently in ICU. 50 of those patients are on ventilators.
There are 139 confirmed cases of Coronavirus at present in care homes across Northern Ireland.
