Coronavirus Ireland: No deaths as 45 additional cases of COVID-19 confirmed

Health officials have announced that there have been no further deaths from coronavirus in Ireland.

An additional 45 cases of the deadly bug have also been confirmed.

The death toll from COVID-19 in the country now remains at 1,763 while there have been 26,253 infections since the pandemic hit Irish shores.

Cabinet is currently meeting to discuss the latest NPHET advice with a decision on the reopening of pubs next week expected in the coming hours.

  • 35 are men / 10 are women
  • 77% are under 45 years of age
  • 31 are associated with outbreaks or are close contacts of a confirmed case
  • 4 cases have been identified as community transmission
  • 33 cases are located in Kildare, 7 in Dublin, and 5 are spread across four other counties.
