Coronavirus: Celebs step in as Art, Music and PE teachers as schools shut down

After schools across their country shut their from doors today, a whole host of celebrities have been revealing the clever ways they've stepped up to ensure youngsters continue to get an education from home.

At a press conference last week Boris Johnson announced that the extreme measure to shut down schools and nurseries 'until further notice' in attempt to control the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

With children forced to stay at home, celebs including Joe Wicks, Myleene Klass and David Beckham have been offering up their expertise to keep them learning thought the pandemic.

Victoria Beckham first took to Instagram this morning to reveal her hubby David was leading an art class from their home.

"School time," she wrote as she shared a clip of David with Harper, eight and Cruz, 15, sat at the kitchen table with their paint brushes.

David's instantly recognisable tattooed arms were seen in one short clip as he helped daughter Harper with her impressive portrait.

And the former footballer was by no means the only famous face stepping into home school during the current health crisis.

Myleene Klass also gave up her time and expertise to lead an online music class to the nation.

Not only is the mum-of-three a former member of pop group Hear'Say, she's also trained on the piano, harp and violin.

"Pop me in your timetable: Monday and Fridays at 10am and on Weds at 6.30, lullabies for you little ones," wrote Myleene on Instagram along with a link to her YouTube channel.

"I’m so proud to be able to help teach in these testing times. You don’t need to have an instrument to take part. (I will taylor make lessons for those who do play instruments)," she explained.

Myleene roped in daughters Hero and Ava to help out with her first class which she broadcast live from her kitchen.

The Body Coach Joe Wicks has also vowed to do his bit and keep the nation's children active in these testing times.

The fitness fanatic is teaching daily PE lessons on his YouTube channel Monday to Friday at 9am for people to watch free of charge.

Explaining his plan on Twitter, Joe said: "Don't worry, I've got you. I'm going to take this over.

"I'm going to get your kids moving, feeling energised, positive, optimistic.

"So tune in Monday morning at 9am and every day."

Joe's idea got off to a flying start with the first PE With Joe session getting around 800,000 streams.

Among the families tuning in, were Coleen Rooney and her four boys.

Coleen shared a video on Twitter of her sons bouncing round the living room as they copied Joe's moves.

"PE with @thebodycoach this morning!! Thanks," said Coleen as she posted the clip to Twitter.
