Corrie actress Brooke Vincent has revealed how her burgeoning baby bump was kept hidden during the soap’s filming.
The actress, 27, is currently on maternity leave as she prepares to welcome her first child with her footballer boyfriend Kean Bryan, who plays for Sheffield United.
Brooke, who plays Sophie Webster, announced her pregnancy in April and continued filming until late August.
She has now revealed the her baby bump was concealed by piles of ironing and bunches of shopping bags as she filmed her scenes.
When the ironing prop was pointed out to her by the Conversation Street Podcast, Brooke replied with a crying-with-laughter emoji: "I think I was hidden behind one of Dev's shopping isles in the end."
However, fans took to Twitter saying they would much rather the practice of hiding the pregnancy would stop.
One said: "I think soaps should give up hiding pregnancies just makes it more obvious."
Another fan messaged: "Me and my daughter love playing guess the 'bump cover'!"
Brooke has played the role of feisty Sophie Webster for the last 15 years.
As she set off for what she has described as her “biggest role yet” as mum, she was showered with hugs and gifts from her co-stars as she said goodbye to the cobbles.
In a video shared on Brooke's Instagram she received hugs from her Corrie co-stars Antony Cotton who plays Sean Tully, Mikey North who plays Gary Windass and Samia Longchambon who plays Maria Connor.
And she looked visibly moved as Sally Dynevor, who plays her on-screen mum Sally Metcalfe, stepped forward to give a touching speech about Brooke.
