Coronation Street's Simon Gregson tries out a staggering new look in a silver catsuit

Simon Gregson looked worlds away from his Coronation Street character as he donned a silver catsuit and floral dress.

The actor, who plays Steve McDonald on the ITV soap, wasn't auditioning for any new roles but was instead hosting a night of fun fashion.

Simon was helping out a mate who owns the Mosaic Boutique in Stoke-on-Trent.

He is reported to have been helping his pal by hosting a Facebook live to sell clothes at his women's clothing store.

Simon could be seen in a tight-fitting silver catsuit and Elton John style glasses complete with feater boa and platform shoes in one ensemble as he took part in the live sale.

He can be heard trying to flog the sparkly number including telling those watching that it was "stretchy" as he performed a few high-kicks.

In a quick change, the Corrie star then went on to show off floor-length floral number with plenty of accecories.

Stephen and Jason, who run Mosaic Boutique, have been hosting the live sales for the last 13 weeks every Thursday and drafted in Simon for their latest event.

It was probably a bit of light relief for the actor who is back at the Corrie studio filming a heartbreaking storyline.

Viewers have recently seen Steve and Leanne Battersby find out the devastating news that their son doesn't have long to live.

The doting parents were told at the hospital that their three-year-old boy Oliver has a serious life-limiting condition.

Coronation Street continues Monday at 7.30pm on ITV.
