Coronation Street's Samia Longchambon branded 'so lush' as she sports high-street gear before heartbreaking message

Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon was flooded with compliments as she was seen sporting a cool new piece of clothing she picked up on the high street. The actress impressed her co-stars and her fans as she shared a posed snap of herself to social media during the recent heatwave.

Samia, who is known for playing Maria Windass in the ITV soap, could be seen in the gorgeous image posing on a garden wall while sporting a 70s-inspired multicoloured vest which she paired with a pair of light-wash denim shorts which showed off her long, tanned legs.

The soap star completed her latest fashion statement with some tan-coloured gladiator sandals and a pair of aviator sunglasses while she wore her light blonde tresses in loose waves around her face.

"Found some shade..." Samia started the caption of her post with an added hot face emojis to sum up how everyone has been feeling in the sunny weather recently.

"Summer ‘23 and I’m obsessed with 70s crochet.. it always comes back around doesn’t it," she then added before confirming she picked up the top from Zara which would set those wanting to recreate the look back £23.

And her Corrie pals were among the first to respond to her post. Kate Ford, famed for playing Tracy Barlow in the ITV soap, wrote: "Love this look." Beth Sutherland actress Lisa George replied: "Love that top!" Sally Carman-Duttine, known for playing Abi Webster, said: "You’re so lush."

Fans were also quick to share their complimentary messages. @vandapiasecki said: "You could rock a bin liner!" @leanne.ahmed commented: "Love your top!! You look fab." @karenmariamulryan posted: "Fabulous as always."

The post came a few days before Samia shared a simple yet heartbreaking message as she remembered her beloved late dad on what would have been his birthday. On her Instagram Story on Tuesday (June 20), the 40-year-old posted a photo of herself from when she was a kid with her dad, Joseph.

"Happy heavenly birthday Dad," she typed alongside an angel emoji and yellow love heart. She then added: "Miss you every day," alongside a broken heart emoji.

Samia opened up to her followers about grief in November last year after sharing how she went to phone her dad, Joseph, despite him having died more than 13 years ago. Samia shared a photo of her and her dad which had been lovingly placed into a photo frame.

"A funny thing just happened.. I just thought I’m going to give my dad a call. He passed away over 13 years ago but every now and then for a split second I forget," she emotionally shared alongside the image. "And then it’s like a punch in the gut all over again to know that I’ll never be able to speak to him."

She went on to say: "I still have his number in my phone," before adding: "Grief is weird isn’t it. Just thought I’d share it in case it happens to any of you who have lost loved ones.. sending love to you." Samia ended her post by sharing how she was going to combat her prang of grief, writing: "I’m gonna listen to some classics from the drifters now (his favourite band) and remember some fun times."

Corrie co-star Sally was again among those to respond to Samia's post, writing: "Oh Sam, sending you so much love." Toyah Habeeb star Georgia Taylor replied: "Huge love to you, darling woman." Jane Danson, who plays Leanne Battersby, commented: "Aw love, I did exactly the same thing last week , then burst into tears. Always there."

Kimberly Hart-Simpson, who played Nicky Wheatley in the ITV soap, also opened up about losing her own dad, writing in the comments: " I do this all the time with my dad and then remember. I also have loads of his favourite things around my house so I feel like he kind of lives here too. Loads of love to you."
