As far as unlikely friends go, who knew that Coronation Street actor Chris Gascoyne and Hollywood star Johnny Depp were mates?
Not us.
Excitement amongst Coronation Street fans hit a new high this week as Chris, who plays troubled Peter Barlow, shared Instagram post of himself hobnobbing with the A-list.
Chris, 51, appeared to be on pretty familiar terms with Johnny as he posed with a cigarette in his mouth, beer in his hand with his arm around the Edward Scissorhands star.
They certainly looked as if they were embracing the rock and roll lifestyle, with Johnny wearing a low buttoned shirt, dripping with jewels.
And fans couldn't believe what they were seeing.
"That's one night out I would have liked to have been on,” raved one.
“Oh my, this is 2 of my favourite males in the entire universe!! Heaven in a picture," commented a lustier follower.
And some fans even think the pair looked alike, with similar ‘rock and roll’ looks.
“Love the rugged look @chrisgascoyneofficial," gushed another.
One even dared hope the Captain Jack Sparrow star would make a guest appearance on the sopa.
“Wait... Is Jonny making a cameo on Corrie!?!” speculated a fan.
