Coronation Street's Ken Barlow says goodbye in heartbreaking exit amid conspiracy

Ken Barlow says an emotional goodbye to Coronation Street later this week.

The Corrie legend shocked his family when he revealed plans to sell No. 1 and move out after living nearly his entire life in the famous house.

Bill Roache's character is packing up and shipping off to a luxury retirement complex with Claudia, who may have bad motivations for moving him out.

On today's This Morning, viewers were shown a tear-jerking clip from Friday's episode during Kenneth's final moments in his beloved home.

After packing up the last of his things, with help from Peter, Carla, Tracy and Simon, he is reminded of his late wife Deirdre.

"I'll give you a moment to say goodbye to the old place," says Claudia while unresponsive Ken sits in silence.

When Claudia leaves, Ken stands up to have one last look around his living room in poignant scenes.

Before walking out, he says: "Goodbye No. 1 Coronation Street ."

This Morning host Holly Willoughby confessed: "Oh no, I can't bear it!"

While co-host Phillip Schofield asked if Claudia was essentially trying to get Ken away from the memory of Deirdre.

Sharon joked: "I think she wants him in for a hairspray. Getting him out the way."

Insisting Ken would be back, Holly added: "It's like the rooks leaving the Tower of London. Coronation Street will crumble without him."

While Claudia seems very keen to move in as soon as possible, Ken has his reservations after paying a visit to Stillwaters retirement complex.

Ken calls on Stave and Tracy in an attempt to delay the sale of No. 1, but their excitement at moving in prompts him to keep quiet.

Audrey is left worrying that Ken has been pushed to move in to Stillwater against his will, while Tracy grows concerned when she sees her dad looking upset with Eccles on his lap.

Will Ken really leave Coronation Street?
