Coronation Street's Kelly star Millie Gibson shows off impressive gym pictures ahead of hitting red carpet

Coronation Street star Millie Gibson is putting herself through her paces as she showed off the start of her gym journey. The actress is best known for playing Kelly Neelan in the ITV soap.

The teen soap star appears to be a keen runner and was one of many who joined Corrie co-star Sally Matthews last year as she completed her last run after setting herself a charity challenge to run 50 5ks after turning 50 herself back in 2020.

Last month she shared a selfie on Instagram as she took her workout outdoors during the bright spring weather. It showed Millie with her hair slicked back away from her face and posed for the snap with her sunglasses on her head. "First 5k outside in a while," she happily shared as she posed without any make-up and in her running gear.

But the 17-year-old appears to be taking things to the next level and once again shared a look at the start of her latest fitness efforts on Instagram. She started by sharing a short video of herself working on the mat in a gym, writing: "First ever PT session with the amazing @getlean.personal_training."

She then shared a series of photos of herself working up a sweat with weights and a trusty plank move. "Can't wait to see the progress," Millie said before sharing her 'before pic'.

It was then all change for the Corrie star as she headed out in Manchester on Wednesday night (April 6). She joined many of her co-stars on the red carpet at the official glitzy premiere of Disney's classic Beauty and the Beast. The musical, based on Disney's hit 1991 animated movie, started its nine-week run at Manchester's Palace Theatre on March 31.

Millie and her fellow attendees - including Alan Halsall (Tyrone Dobbs), Rob Mallard (Daniel Osbourne), Kimberley Hart-Simpson (Nicky Wheatley) and Emmerdale stars Lawrence Robb (Mackenzie Boyd) and Jessie Elland (Chloe Harris) - were handed roses on arrival and posed for snaps in front of a rose-filled wall before sitting down to witness the much-loved film come to life in front of their very eyes.

Millie swapped her earlier gym outfit for a pair of light blue denim jeans which share paired with a white shirt under a cream leather-look jacket. And her character is set to undergo a transformation in scenes to air on Corrie on Friday night (April 8).

Kelly has been refusing to see her dying mum Laura in hospital after she confessed to the murder of her husband, and Kelly's dad, Rick Neelan. As viewers know, Laura has taken the rap for Gary Windass who actually killed Rick in self-defence back in 2019. But wanting her daughter to have a secure future with Gary and wife Maria once she's gone, Laura said she was responsible and only has days to live.

In upcoming scenes, as Maria and Kelly are about to leave for the hairdressing awards, Gary reveals that he’s had a call from the hospital warning him that Laura only has hours to live. Determined that her mum is not going to ruin her day, Kelly walks out and Maria hurries after her.

Later, Kelly, who looks completely different to normal in a glitzy purple dress with her hair styled into crimped waves, is on a high as she wins Best Trainee Stylist and knocks back the wine. But soon Gary arrives and appeals to her to go and visit Laura.
