Coronation Street's Gail chases Lorraine Kelly on a pedalo in hilarious cameo

Lorraine Kelly is making a surprise Coronation Street cameo that will leaves fans in hysterics.

The Scottish TV presenter, who is usually on our screens on her daytime chat show, is turning her hand to acting on her favourite soap.

Whilst a full-scale Platt family war starts erupting between Nick, David and Audrey - Gail is heading on a mission to find her heroine.

Blissfully unaware of the drama unfolding, Gail hears a rumour that Lorraine is camping at the same holiday park.

She persuades a reluctant Bethany and Sarah into chasing Lorraine across a lake on a pedalo.

Coronation Street loses another extra after they announce they have QUIT

After spotting Lorraine on the water, Gail frantically tries to get her attention by waving.

When that fails, the girls start pedalling as fast as their legs can go as they chase her down.

However, in true Corrie style, Gail's quest to find the TV host doesn't quite go to plan.

Their tranquil break turns into something out of an action movie as they try to hunt down Lorraine.

The women find themselves in a hilarious situation that the Scottish presenter won’t ever forget.

But will Gail actually get to meet her idol?

Lorraine, who is a big fan of Corrie, was mentioned during a scene last month.

The real world and soap world combined as Gemma laid on the sofa eating toast while watching Lorraine’s show on the telly.

While watching the show, Gemma confessed: “I wish Lorraine were my mum.”

Lorraine Kelly’s surprise Coronation Street scene causes controversy

When baffled Ches asked why, she replied: “Because she’s dead pretty and we’d have celebs round all the time. I’ve always wanted to be Scottish.”

Chesney asked if she was ever going to get dressed, but Gemma was still obsessing over Lorraine.

While sipping her cuppa, she shouted: “You tell ‘em Lorraine. She's quite feisty really. We’re similar.”

* Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV
