Coronation Street newcomer Mia may be a familiar face to viewers following her role in another major ITV show.
Kelly Neelan's cellmate in the ITV soap is played by young actress Madeleine Edmondson.
Madeleine has previously appeared in the Tracy Beaker spin-off The Dumping Ground and another children's TV series The Worst Witch.
And she played Chloe Gifford in ITV’s long-running Manchester-based comedy drama Cold Feet.
Chloe is the daughter of Jenny Gifford, played by Fay Ripley, and Grant Hodges, played by Robert Webb, who Jenny had a fling with while she was divorced from her husband Pete.
Pete, played by John Thomson, raised Chloe.
In Corrie Madeleine's character Mia had a shock in store for Kelly when she told her that her she knew her loan shark dad Rick Neelan.
The showdown came when she spotted Kelly, who is behind bars after being framed for the murder of Seb Franklin, being visited by Rick's right-hand woman Sharon.
"He's the reason I'm in here. He is the reason my mum is dead," she revealed.
Kelly cottoned on something was wrong after being shunned by another prisoner and she confronted Mia after suspecting she was spreading stories about her.
"Your dad's a bit worse than dodgy," Mia told her.
And when Kelly pressed her on why she was so concerned by him, she replied: "I could fill a library with the stuff he's done."
Mia then explained Rick's connection to her own family and their tragic story.
She told Kelly that, desperate to pay him back, her mum turned to dealing and then using drugs and she had died of an overdose the day before her 15th birthday.
Mia then ended up dealing myself and that's how she came to be in prison.
Another bombshell arrived for Kelly when she mentioned that Rick was in Spain, and Mia told her that her father is more likely to be dead.
"If your dad disappeared, someone disappeared him," she said.
Kelly is unaware that Gary Windass murdered his fearsome loan boss and buried his body in the woods back in 2019.
Kelly, played by Millie Gibson, initially came into Coronation Street for four episodes.
She is now central to a major hate crime storyline which saw Nina Lucas and Seb Franklin savagely set upon by a gang of teens because of goth Nina's appearance.
