Upset Coronation Street viewers have been having their say after the soap teased them with a behind-the-scenes spoiler photo.
The ITV show's official Twitter posted a photo of widower Daniel Osbourne on the couch in his flat with close friend Bethany Platt - and fans are not impressed.
Viewers are disappointed that this might be a hint at a future romance for the pair so soon after Daniel's wife Sinead lost her battle with cervical cancer.
Sinead, the mother of his baby boy Bertie, was devastated to learn before she died that Bethany had feelings for her husband and that Daniel had kissed the budding young writer.
Sinead, played by Katie McGlynn, decided to forgive an emotional Daniel, played by Rob Mallard, for sharing a kiss with their neighbour Bethany because tragically she didn't have the time to deal with it in any other way in her final moments.
"I was hoping this pairing was going to be put to bed," said one viewer.
"I bet they get together and she ends up raising Bertie as her own," wondered another.
"Stupid idea! Also it won't be very popular. Why can't he just grieve for the love of his life?" asked another.
At the weekend Rob Mallard, who plays Daniel, won the Best Performance in a Continuing Drama award at the RTS North West Awards held at the Hilton hotel in Manchester.
And Sinead's story won Best Continuing Drama Storyline.
