Coronation Street fans were quick to spot a problem as Bernie and Paul hatched a plan in the cafe.
Paul ordered a bacon sandwich, which Bernie subsequently burnt and he seemed depressed.
But Bernie tried to cheer him up and told him he should be enjoying life while he was "young and gay and in Manchester."
Bernie said: "Have you not seen Queer as Folk, let's go out today and get leathered."
Todd then came into the cafe and said he was also planning on asking to Paul to go for a drink.
Todd suggested the pair go into town for a few drinks at a hotel where he knew a barman that could give them free drinks.
Paul eventually agreed and they headed off into Manchester for a boozy Friday afternoon.
But lots of viewers were quick to point out the fact that Manchester was still in a global pandemic, with bars, clubs and hotels all closed in the real world.
And many of them took to social media to comment on it.
