Coronation Street fans baffled as writers 'forget' Asha and Aadi's age

Coronation Street fans were left incredibly puzzled this evening after its writes appeared to have "forgotten" Asha and Aadi Alahan's age as they celebrated their milestone birthday.

Sunita, Dev's late wife, gave birth to the twins on January 13 2006, which would make them 15.

But as Dev celebrated his son and daughter's birthday, he shared his excitement at them turning 16 and added their initials to his shop front.

Fans took to Twitter to point out the mix-up, with one writing: "Are we just ignoring the fact that Asha and Aadi were born in 2006, so would 15, not 16? #Corrie #CoronationStreet @itvcorrie."

A third joked: "The surprise? You’re both 15! #corrie."

"Maybe you wanna look at birth certificate dev. THEY ARE 15 #CORRIE," another tweeted.

One quipped: "#Corrie Dev mate, They're 15."

The twins' mum Sunita missed their birthday following her tragic death in 2016.

Sunita had been involved in an affair with Karl Munro, but things turned sour between them when their other halves discovered what they had been up to.

She later discovered Karl creating a fire by using Jason's building materials in order to frame him, and a fight broke out, leading Sunita to fall unconscious.

As the fire engulfed the Rovers, Sunita was later found and rushed to hospital and put on life support.

In a bid to silence her forever, Karl framed her for the fire and removed her breathing tube and she tragically died.

Thankfully, it wasn't soon after that Karl's deeds were exposed and he was brought to justice over her death and the fire.
