Cork's Ciarán Sheehan has announced his retirement from inter-county football due to a knee injury.
The Eire Og clubman was part of the Rebels team that lifted the Sam Maguire in 2010, beating Down in the final.
He told The Irish Examiner: "My knee has got to the point where competing at inter-county level intensity is no longer an option as the long-term health of the knee is at high risk if I continue to play at that level."
Sheehan moved to Australia in 2014 to play for Carlton and was named rookie of the year before he returned to play for Cork in the 2020 season.
Cork manager Ronan McCarthy described Sheehan as "a Rolls Royce of a footballer", adding that he was "a calm and influential leader on and off the field".
