In a collection of words you thought might never be uttered, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made an appearance at Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday party, hosted by Jeff Bezos.
That’s right, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were among the starry guests invited to Bezos’ $254 million AUD (!) Beverly Hills mansion over the weekend, in honour of Jenner’s 70th lap around the sun. Oh, to be a fly on the wall.
For the James Bond-themed event, Harry wore a class tux and bowtie while Meghan sported a black top and wrap skirt, with no sign of the edible flowers she sprinkled on everything in sight on With, Love Meghan.
The ex-royals were just a few of the big names on Jenner’s 300-strong guest list, with the momager also welcoming (deep breath) Oprah, Adele, Justin Bieber, Paris Hilton, Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg and billionaire Bill Gates. Curious minds wonder what on Earth they all talked about, besides which episode of All’s Fair they’re up to.
Speaking of which, Kim Kardashian was also present at the bday bash, as well as her sisters Khloé Kardashian and Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
The guest list was so bustling that police were reportedly called to the event in response to a noise complaint from a neighbour, who was likely just pissed they weren’t invited.
Per TMZ, officers issued a warning to security at the event after nearby residents heard loud noises during Bruno Mars’ live performance. We don’t know any other details about Mars’ set, but given the crowd, I hope he at least performed “Billionaire”.
It’s reported that police returned to Bezos’ home after learning that large decorative hedges had been placed outside to block off the street, which requires a permit in California.
If Bezos can get away with contributing to overtourism in Venice, he can get away with a misplaced hedge.
As for the most mind-boggling invitees, it’s not known how Harry and Meghan know the Kardashians, but both Kris and Khloé have received publicity packages from Meghan’s lifestyle brand As Ever in the past.
Apparently, that’s all that’s needed to nab a spot at the most star-studded party of the year. Well, that and a few hundred million dollars.
