Cops tease 'Cinderella' drug smoker who ran away leaving shoe behind

Cops have teased a 'Cinderella' drug user who ran away after being spotted smoking cannabis - leaving one of his shoes behind.

The light-hearted post on Facebook by police in Middleton has gone viral.

The force joked officers were 'knocking on the doors of the men of Middleton' to 'find the person who the shoe fits'.

The man also left his mobile phone behind.

And his car - which wasn't insured - was impounded.

In the Facebook-post, GMP Middleton said: "Everybody likes a nice fairytale-type story...

"Once upon a time a nice police officer in Middleton was on patrol when they saw a naughty man smoking drugs in their car.

"The naughty man saw the nice police officer and ran away,.

"In his haste though the bad man left his mobile phone and his trainer behind

"Tonight, we are knocking on the doors of the men of Middleton to see if like in the story of Cinderella, we can find the person who the shoe fits...

"The moral of the story is this....Don't do drugs kids, because when you run away from the police and you leave your shoe behind and it's bouncing down with rain you're going to get a very wet foot !!!!

"If you're reading this, to save us time please feel free to come and collect your trainer, phone, oh and keys to your car as that has been impounded too as you had no insurance."

"Brilliant...love the humour," wrote one Facebook poster.
