Cops swarm Mugdock Country Park in search for missing person as dogs drafted in

Police dogs have been drafted into the search for a missing person at Mugdock Country Park.

Officers descended on to the woodland near Milngavie in East Dunbartonshire after receiving an alarm at 11am today. Images from the scene show multiple cop vehicles in attendance as officers also search the area.

A large section of an entrance to the park is also currently taped off.

A member of the public earlier shared multiple pieces of video footage on Twitter of a helicopter from Police Scotland's air unit flying overhead.

They said: "Low Police Scotland helicopter circling over Mugdock Country Park for some time, around the moors/loch areas near East Car Park."

Officers have said there is no wider threat to the public. Inquiries remain ongoing.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Officers are currently in attendance at Mugdock Country Park carrying out a search in relation to a missing person. There is no risk to the wider public and enquiries remain going.”
