Police proudly showed off a massive booze haul they seized in Ayrshire yesterday after crowds of young people flocked to local beaches during the heatwave.
Ayrshire Police posted a picture of the alcohol they had confiscated on social media last night, alongside a stark warning to anyone planning a trip to the seaside.
The photo showed at least 100 cans and bottles lined up across two benches.
Cops reminded visitors of local byelaws in Ayrshire and said the consumption of alcohol in public places is prohibited.
They added: "As of 3pm today a large quantity of alcohol had already been seized.
"A robust approach will be taken by police in removing alcohol to prevent those intent on causing disorder and antisocial behaviour at our beaches.
"No alcohol decreases the chances of antisocial behaviour, making it a more enjoyable time for all the public and their families."
A spokesperson for the force also confirmed to the Record no arrests had been made in relation to the haul.
Crowds packed out beaches in Troon, Ayr, Prestwick and Irvine yesterday as temperatures soared.
Earlier this week the Scottish Government asked the public to "stay indoors or shaded when the sun is at its hottest" and "avoid alcohol – which can leave you dehydrated".
