Cops search canals and gardens for missing Glasgow man as family become 'extremely worried'

Police are continuing their search for missing Glasgow man James Coyle.

The 34-year-old was last seen on Sunday, November 29 at around 7pm in Sollas Place and his family are now said to be “extremely worried”.

Searches in the Drumchapel and Knightswood areas of the city are ongoing to trace him, including searches of canals and grounds.

People in the local area have been asked to check gardens and sheds in case he has tried to find shelter.

James is described as 6ft 1in tall, slim with brown hair and a brown beard. He is believed to have been wearing grey jogging bottoms, a black top and black socks.

He may be wearing navy Adidas trainers.

Local officers, supported by specialist units, are conducting canal and ground searches in the area.

Chief Inspector Natalie Carr said: "James was last seen over a week ago and his family are extremely worried because it is very unusual for them not to hear from him for so long.

“A number of searches are being carried out in the surrounding area where James lives and I would also appeal to people living locally to check their own gardens and sheds or outbuildings, in case he has sought shelter within.

“Anyone with information regarding James’s whereabouts should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 0055 of 2 December 2020.”
