Cops probe footage of illegal rave at former Lanarkshire steelworks

Police Scotland say they are looking into footage of an 'illegal' rave in Lanarkshire after footage of the alleged even circulated online.

Footage seems to show large crowds - gathered in a tight space -partying at the former Ravenscraig steelworks site in Motherwell on Saturday night.

Revellers filmed are seemingly listening to DJs and dancing at the venue. But as large gatherings are currently banned, the rave would be a breach of COVID rules.

Cops didn't attend the scene as no report was made to them, but say they are now probing the footage to establish if a breach of COVID regulations took place.
