Cops launch probe after man's body found on Scots beach

Police have launched a probe after the body of a man was discovered on a beach in Aberdeen shire.

Cops made the grim discovery on Balmedie Beach at around 11.30am on Wednesday, June 24.

At this stage the man's identity and the circumstances surrounding his passing are currently unknown.

Now officers from Police Scotland have launched an investigation to find out what happened to him following the discovery close to Donald Trump's golf course in the north east.

The death of the 26-year-old man is being treated as non-suspicious.

Inspector Andy Scott, of Ellon Police Station, said: "We received a report of a 26-year-old man's body found on Balmedie Beach, Aberdeen, around 11.30am on Wednesday, 24 June, 2020.

"The death is being treated as non-suspicious and his next of kin are aware.

"A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
