Cops hunt tattooed man after serious assault at Lanarkshire train station

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault on the platform of Bellshill railway station.

A man assaulted a woman on the platform of the station on Saturday, April 15 at around 11.35pm.

A member of the public intervened and he was then seriously assaulted by the same man.

The victim was hospitalised with a head injury but has since been discharged.

The man is described as white, with a Scottish accent and has a shaved head with lots of tattoos. He was wearing dark coloured clothing, however, removed his top to reveal his bare chest at the time of incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police by calling 0800 40 50 40 or by texting 61016 – with reference 2300042364.

Information can also be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
