Cops hunt 'reckless' yobs after bins are set on fire spreading to parked cars causing 'significant damage' in Scots town

Police are hunting "reckless" yobs after bins were set on fire before spreading to parked cars in a Scots town.

Cops have launched a probe after "significant damage" was caused following a pair of blazes which happened on McGrigor Road in Rosyth, near Dunfermline.

The first incident happened between 1.40am and 3am on Wednesday, June 30 and the second around 11pm last night.

Police in Fife are appealing for information following the two wilful fire-raisings.

Inspector Tony Rogers, of Fife community policing, said: “Thankfully nobody has been injured as a result of this reckless behaviour.

“On both occasions, bins appear to have been set on fire which has subsequently spread to nearby parked cars and caused significant damage.

“This type of behaviour will not be tolerated within in our community and I would ask anyone with any information to come forward and speak to police.

“I would also ask anyone that has possible dashcam or CCTV footage of the area to get in touch with officers.”

Police can be contacted by calling 101 quoting incident number 3161 of Wednesday, June 30 or at RosythCPT@Scotland.pnn.police.uk.
