Cops hunt intruder found in OAP's bathroom at Paisley care home

Police have appealed for witnesses after an elderly Paisley care home resident found a man rummaging through her bathroom.

The suspect made off after he was disturbed at the Lochore Avenue complex in the early hours of yesterday morning.

It’s understood the resident heard a noise and went to investigate at around 2.45am.

Police were alerted a short time later, but a search was unsuccessful.

Officers are now appealing for information and appealed for witnesses to come forward.

A force spokeswoman said: “If you saw a male acting suspiciously in the Lochore Avenue area of Paisley at around 2.45am on Friday, the we would like to hear from you.

“This was a frightening experience for the elderly resident and we are very keen to trace the individual involved.

“We will be checking CCTV from the area and would ask anyone who may have been driving to check dashcam footage to see if the captured anything which may be useful to our investigation.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
